What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Prepare all required resources for the creation of switch gear products
  • Using machines and equipment ensuring safety at all times
  • Working as part of a team to complete tasks in a timely and safe manner
  • Cleaning down of equipment and work areas
  • Be aware of risk at all times for yourself and for those around you

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Engineering Fitter apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills if required.

This programme requires your attendance at our engineering innovation centre, one day per week (term time only).

You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession. You will experience a blended learning model. You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.

You will achieve the diploma in advanced manufacturing and engineering as part of this apprenticeship standard.

At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.
