What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Responsible to the Engineering Director in the preparation of detailed designs and specific contract works instructions documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with agreed build specification and Company design criteria.
  • Close liaisons with Works supervisor re efficient and safe application of labour resources in order to achieve production targets and delivery dates of specific contracts.
  • Technical liaisons with customers.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Engineering Technician apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills if required.

This is a day release delivery model which requires weekly attendance at our engineering innovation centre. Day release is expected every week during term time.

This programme includes the diploma in advanced manufacturing & engineering.


You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession. You will experience a blended learning model. You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.
At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.
