What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Provide a friendly and professional reception service.
  • Communication face to face and on the telephone.
  • Greet visitors to the school.
  • Complete dinner registers.
  • Prepare letters to be sent to parents/carers.
  • Provide routine clerical support e.g. photocopying, filing, faxing,emailing, etc.
  • Assisting members of staff when required.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Advanced Business Administrator (Level 3)

Functional Skills in Maths, English & I.T. (if required)

On-programme learning to include knowledge, skills and behaviours relating to all aspects of business administration.

Regular training and development sessions to meet the needs of the Employer and the Apprentice.

Your training will be a blend of classroom sessions and on line classes. Classroom sessions will be held at The Craven Park Training & Enterprise Centre, Poorhouse Lane, Preston Road, Hull, HU9 5HE.

About the employer

Oakfield Special School is a co-educational school for both day and residential pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. The school is a mixed-gender school for pupils between the ages of 11 and 16 years who have and Educational Health Care Plan for special educational needs. The school can accommodate a maximum of 110 pupils and has a Residential Provision that can accommodate up to 34 pupils.
