What will the apprentice be doing?

Assisting the dentists with suction, retraction, manipulation of air and water syringes, passing instruments and mixing/passing materials

Ensuring all lab work is checked and available prior to patient’s arrival

Developing and filing x-rays

Cleaning and sterilising instruments

Greeting and caring for patients

Maintaining a clean environment during surgery

Carrying out reception and administration tasks

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Apprentices will work towards Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 as part of this apprenticeship to become a GDC qualified Dental Nurse. You will be supported by a dedicated Dental Assessor who will carry out monthly visits and you will also attend a range of online tutorial sessions.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The right candidate would be considered to stay on at the practice as a dental nurse
