What will the apprentice be doing?

Duties will include:

  •  Learning while you are employed full-time with a salon.
  •  Provide facial skincare treatments.
  •  Provide pedicure services.
  •  Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and eyelashes.
  •  Carry out waxing services.
  •  Provide manicure services.
  •  Apply make up.
  •  Provide basic massage treatments.

    For both advanced facial technical and advanced body technical including:

  •  Galvanic.
  •  Micro-current.
  •  Microdermabrasion.
  •  Low intensity LED light.
  •  Skin warming devices.
  •  High/radio frequency.
  •  Lymphatic drainage equipment.
  •  Actions to reduce risks to health and safety.
  •  Promote additional services or products to customers.
  •  Correct product use.
  •  Understand policies & processes.
  •  Industry codes of practice & ethics.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals (Hairdressing/Barbering)

Relevant training will be provided through Lancaster & Morecambe College.

Subject to attending an Apprenticeship Interview with Lancaster & Morecambe College.

Functional Skills may be required if entry requirements are not met.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Many apprentices are potentially given jobs with the employers they trained with as Apprentices, others go onto further studies. Apprentices are often fast-tracked by their employers for promotion to more experienced positions.
