What will the apprentice be doing?

  • To operate safety equipment and uses safe work habits while performing his / her job function
  • To weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
  • To operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using
    processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, and flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and shielded
    metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The Engineering Operative Apprentice will work towards a L2 Engineering Operative qualification via Weymouth College and will at the same time have formal training delivered by Manor Marine.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Prospect of progression to a higher level apprenticeship qualification and to progress within the business.
