What will the apprentice be doing?
Roles and Responsibilities:

Learn how to bend plates
-
Remove old plates and position and put new plates on the printing press

Put reels of paper onto the reel stand at the start of the process
- Use computerised systems to learn how to run the machine and achieve colour and register
- Keep all consumables up to date and filled up ie, ink, fount and paper
- You will be shown how to run and operate the machine in a safe manner.
- Gain skills by learning how to achieve colour and register by using the latest technology but also in manual
- Lean how to make ready and also carry out maintenance of the printing press
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Apprenticeship Standard for Print Operative
- Functional Skills in Maths and English (Where required)
- One day per month study offsite workplace with Learn2print
- Allocated assessor with regular visits to the workplace to review practical element of the apprenticeship.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Full time position within the company is available to the right candidate on completion of the Apprenticeship programme.
