What will the apprentice be doing?
A fabulous opportunity to join the KRL team based in Telford has arisen. As an International Freight Forwarding Office Apprentice, you will be responsible for the movement of goods, ensuring the transit and delivery is made on time. You will liaise regularly with overseas offices, partners or agents & you will be responsible for organising associated paperwork to ensure a smooth operation for your customers.
Other duties will include:
Support the business with any additional tasks as required
Support customers’ processes to ensure precise and timely arrangements of shipment requests
Building strong internal and external relationships to exceed customer expectations
Liaise/co-ordinate with carriers, agents, warehouses and customers to arrange collections, manage queries and follow up discrepancies in a timely manner
Data entry: processing orders on the internal management system
Documentation creation (Waybill/Bill of Lading/Customs documentation)
Day-to-day administration: File reporting, filing
Answering enquiries and effectively resolving complaints
Raise invoices and transport documents
Successfully network between members of the team
Proactively support colleagues as dictated by changing work load demands
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 International Freight Forwarding Specialist apprenticeship standard provided by SR Apprenticeships, which includes:
Functional Skills Level 2 in maths & English (If applicable)

Things to consider
20 days plus 8 Statutory Bank Holidays. After 3 years’ service this increase by one day, per year up to a maximum of 23 days.
Auto enrolment in to the pension at appropriate age.
