What will the apprentice be doing?

Tasks will include travelling from address to address within a given area to assist the clients scheduled with making clothes choices for the day, washing, dressing, shaving, oral care support, medicine management, meal preperation, pet care, attendance of appointments and allocated physiotherapy.

Our Community Carers will also take part in company events if they wish such as day trips with clients to the beach, theatre, local cafes etc.


We are a small close knit team (never more than 40 team members), which means we are able to get to know every colleague personally and help them to develop confidence and skills to aid them in their career goals. We have in house promotion opportunities, regular socials and a 'family feel' amongst all of the workforce which makes for a healthy wokring environment with set shifts patterns so that work life balance can be maintained and days off known 6-12 months ahead. No staff member works more than 5 days a week and all staff work a minimum of alternate weekends on a mix of early and late shifts on a rotating shift pattern agreed mutually.

Level 3 qualified staff also have the opportunity to join our mentorship team where they coach other team members to develop skills in the care sector.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Over the course of 18 months, you will study things such as the principles of healthcare and safeguarding, person-centred care & support, physiological measurements, basic life support, dementia, cognitive & mental health support, moving, handling and infection control, supporting daily living, lifespan development and healthcare needs, duty of care and legislation (these topics may differ).

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, you will achieve a Level 3 qualification and a TQUK Diploma in Care.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Apprentices who qualify could go onto team leader, mentorship or training roles.

Things to consider

This position involves travelling between our service users' houses, so a driving licence and own transport is required. No academic qualifications are required for this post; we recruit for the person, rather than their qualifications.
