What will the apprentice be doing?

 The apprentice will carry out a variety of tasks including:

· Piping

· Lettering

· Marzipan and sugar paste work

· Layering

· Bonding

· General decorating

· Mixing ingredients

· Baking

· General finishing

· Packaging

· General hygiene duties

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will achieve a Level 2 Bakery qualification at the end of your apprenticeship if successful. 

You will complete your training with Tameside College and attend weekly. This will be based Wellington Road, Ashton-under-Lyne. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

On successful completion of this apprenticeship you can:

●  Progress onto the Apprenticeship Standard Level 3 in Food and Drink or further training and employment opportunities in the food industry including Level 3 Award in Food Safety Supervision for Manufacturing or Level 3 Award in HACCP for Food Manufacturing

●  Progression to further learning in subject areas including Bakery production, Bakery science and technology, Food safety and quality and Food team leading/management
