What will the apprentice be doing?

Throughout your apprenticeship you will be taught the skills and knowledge you need to know to successfully complete the Bricklayer Standard. You will learn how to use all the specialist hand tools, machinery and power tools associated with this role. You will need to show attention to detail and be keen to learn, you will be shown different tasks like; cutting and aligning brickwork and slabs, as well as preparing mortar by hand and by mixer, setting out work areas and some manual lifting. You will be working within a young team of 5, and encouraged, with the right supervision to go on the trowel straight from the start.

Level 2 Bricklayer Apprenticeship
Functional Skills Maths and English (If GCSE Maths and English are not at Grade C or above)
Employment responsibilities and rights.
CSCS training to be provided.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

On completion of your Level 2 Apprenticeship, you will either be able to stay working full time with Interlock or become a Self employed Bricklayer.

About the employer

Interlock Brickwork are subcontracting on 5 new build sites across Devon and Cornwall, usually within an hour radius of Plymouth in Plymouth and surrounding. They have been in the trade for over 10 years and purely concentrate on site work.
