What will the apprentice be doing?
Your salon duties may include, but not limited to;
▪ Being punctual
▪ Helping to prepare the salon for clients arrival
▪ Welcoming clients and visitors to the salon
▪ Being helpful and respectful to clients and colleagues
▪ Helping to provide refreshments to clients and visitors
▪ Gowning up and preparing clients prior to treatment
▪ Shampooing and applying conditioner treatments
▪ Blow drying hair under supervision when requested
▪ Preparing equipment and materials for hairdressers use
▪ Re-filling stocks of frequently used materials
▪ Helping to maintain a safe working environment
▪ Tidying up and maintaining the image of the salon
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 2 Hairdressing apprenticeship standard.
Relevant training will be provided through Lancaster & Morecambe College.
Subject to attending an Apprenticeship Interview with Lancaster & Morecambe College.
Functional Skills may be required if entry requirements are not met.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Many apprentices are potentially given jobs with the employers they trained with as Apprentice Stylists, others go onto further studies. Apprentices are often fast-tracked by their employers for promotion to more experienced positions.
