What will the apprentice be doing?

Duties include:

  • Cloud accounting and general bookkeeping
  • Preparation of year end accounts
  • Aiding in the preparation of VAT returns
  • Preparing personal tax returns
  • Generating corporation tax returns
  • Payroll reconciliation
  • Filing confirmation statements
  • Answering general client queries relating to Xero/accounts

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Alongside your role, you will study towards AAT qualifications, learning from industry experienced trainers. Harold Sharp also want to provide first class training and good progression to eventually qualify as a chartered accountant.

Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard, which include:

  • Level 2 AAT qualification (if required)
  • Level 3 AAT qualification
  • Functional skills in English, maths, and ICT (if applicable)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Progression to level 4 AAT

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Progression to chartered accountancy status for the right candidate.
