  • Working week

    Your normal working hours will be 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday. Flexibility is crucial as early starts and late finishes may be required, so own transport would be appropriate. Any over time will be paid at the standard rate of pay. Some weekend work.

What will the apprentice be doing?

Taking responsibility for delivery and collection of furniture and accessories
Assisting with loading and unloading the van, ensuring that items are not damaged in transit 
Checking inbound supplier deliveries and outbound customer orders
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
General warehouse housekeeping and waste management
Using the forklift as required (training will be provided)

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will be working towards to an apprenticeship in Supply Chain Warehousing Operator.

This will include an assessor from Cambridge Regional College and a work mentor.

Fork lift training with be given

Functional skills if needed.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Possibility for a full-time position within the company, could be progressing to a driver and even in time to be responsible for his/her delivery team.

Things to consider

How will you be able to travel to and from work each day as sometimes there is early starts or later finishes Lifting furniture daily is a very physically demanding job The role provides variety as we travel all over the UK daily Very occasionally you will be required to stay away overnight, the costs will be covered by the company
