What will the apprentice be doing?
Duties:
- Carry out steel and consumables purchasing tasks
- Produce forecasts and monitor stock levels
- Place orders, progress and chase deliveries with suppliers, port agents and hauliers
- Ensure all required data is input accurately and promptly onto the stock database
- Source specialist suppliers and negotiate prices
- Work closely with inter-company departments
- Assist with implementing new procedures
- Provide goods inwards support and cover stock-takes
- Purchasing administration duties
