What will the apprentice be doing?

Duties:

  • Carry out steel and consumables purchasing tasks
  • Produce forecasts and monitor stock levels
  • Place orders, progress and chase deliveries with suppliers, port agents and hauliers
  • Ensure all required data is input accurately and promptly onto the stock database
  • Source specialist suppliers and negotiate prices
  • Work closely with inter-company departments
  • Assist with implementing new procedures
  • Provide goods inwards support and cover stock-takes
  • Purchasing administration duties
