What will the apprentice be doing?

The role is a practical work role that will involve the individual training in the area of Opto-Mechanical Engineering to eventually become a fully skilled technician. The individual would be expected to undergo rigorous training. Some of the duties:

  • Produce specialist components, using a range of materials to customer specifications and requirements.
  • Using  conventional machines.
  • Using CNC machines.

  • Intermediate apprenticeship, Engineering Operative Level 2
  • Block release to Stephenson Campus, Coalville (Part of SMB College Group)
  • Functional skills if necessary.
  • On-the-job training.
