The apprentice will have a 3, 6 and 9 month review where performance and pay will be reviewed. The practice also participates in a bonus scheme for the number of new patients welcomed. The apprentice will be included in this bonus potential.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Meeting and greeting patients.
Chatting to patients whilst they register/wait.
Offering refreshments (when appropriate).
Booking patients in and out on the electronic system.
Answering the telephone.
Sending emails and letters.
General admin related to the reception desk.
Taking payments.
Using an online booking system and various other software to complete duties.
General housekeeping to ensure reception always looks tidy and welcoming.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills if required.
You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession. You will experience a blended learning model. You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.
At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon conclusion of this apprenticeship, it is hoped that you will remain part of the team permanently. This might mean using higher level programmes to help you to develop or using other training methods to help you to reach your goals.
