What will the apprentice be doing?
Some of the beginning roles include –
- Greeting clients
- Ensuring clients are comfortable, taking their coat and making them welcome
- Making refreshments for clients
- Sweeping up
- Cleaning the sections in between clients
- Cleaning the salon and staff room
- Shampooing hair

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Eastleigh College will carry out the training. Time at College will cover off the job training to meet the need of the standard delivered at the College site once a week and, regular visits and support from the Professional Coach at the workplace. Following sucessful completion of the apprenticeship, the candidate will receive a level 2 NVQ diploma in hair.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon successful completion of the hairdressing diploma, there is potential to progress to a permanent role
