This role will report to the Operations Manager of the company and working alongside existing technicians and other members of staff.

The main duties of this role:

  • Providing telephone and remote IT support
  • Remotely diagnose and repair client equipment
  • Serving and advising clients over the phone and through our in-house ticket system
  • Quote creation for repairs and new equipment
  • Time recording and job sheet creation
  • Keeping regular telephone contact with clients to update them on work progress
  • Ensuring your work station is kept tidy and organised

Things to consider

A good telephone manner is required due to nature of work. From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.

Training provider

The successful candidate will undergo a full company induction by their mentor/manager. They will then complete Apprenticeship Training, delivered by Weir Training. This will include a QCF in IT at Level 2. It may also include Functional Skills in Maths and English at Level 1 and ICT at Level 2.
