You could be working with any age group from 6 months to 5 year olds supporting the main teacher within Early Years Education.

  • To help children and families to settle into the nursery’s routine and environment.
  • To work as part of a team to provide high quality Early Years and a high standard of care and play activities.

  • Undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery as required by all staff.
  • Providing personal care, changing nappies, toilet training, hand washing, dressing.

Things to consider

Please consider the cost and length of time of your daily commute to Chessington as well as one day per week in Surbiton. 40 hours; shift work pattern, 8 hour day with starts ranging from 7.30am to 10am time. Includes one paid day per week college attendance during term time only. Please note that is NOT a term time only post. The provision is all year round, 48 weeks a year. College attendance is once a week during term time and you will based for 4 days in the nursery. Successful applicants can start between May and September. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

About the employer

Castle Hill Primary School is a two form entry Community Primary School with a Nursery and 2 Speech and Language specialist provisions for both Nursery and Infant age children. The main school buildings have spacious and attractive accommodation with purpose built Nursery and Reception classrooms and a music and drama hall. An extension to the school buildings to accommodate the Junior children was opened in September 2010 and the new dining hall opened in Summer 2011. There are three playgrounds: two adjacent to the new junior building and a large playground at the back of the original school building with a special adjoining outside learning area for Reception children.
