Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
Start time: 7.30am Finish time: 4.30pm There are two half hour unpaid breaks, one at 10am and one at 1pm

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
This apprenticeship will involve the apprentice learning about the following aspects related to the role of a Quality Technician.
To carry out routine checks within the business to ensure the safety, quality and legality of all food products packed. This will include:
- All aspects of the checks from intake to despatch
- An opportunity to be involved in the development process for new products and appreciation of the requirements of other departments
- To work within the quality department in a production environment
- Carry out key quality checks

To apply for this post the candidate will need to have at least 5 GCSE’s or equivalents grades A*-E with an interest in food/science.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there will be the opportunity for a full time role with the company.

The starting wage is £3.50 per hour for 8 weeks probationary period (this is the standard company probationary period), rising to minimum wage based on age. About the employer
A food packer of dried ambient products including: nuts, dried fruits, seeds, grain, confectionery, snacks. Certified to BRC and packing over 50 million packs a year we supply many of the major supermarkets.
As part of the apprenticeship the candidate will be working towards a workplace training plan within their organisation as well as working towards the apprenticeship framework components with Telford College. The candidate will achieve the following qualifications:
