Based in our Head Office in Grazeley, Reading, you will be working primarily in the Managed Services Team within the IT department.

The IT team is responsible for keeping all services up and running for the company to ensure the business can run with the minimum of disruption. This includes maintaining configuring laptops, IP phones, tablets, mobile phones and shared resources such as printers/scanners, network connectivity etc.


In addition, the IT department is responsible for running the Managed Services for our various customers which includes maintaining the health of the hardware and software as well as running the software on behalf of the customers, producing reports etc.

Your role will mainly involve the following :-


  • Develop the skills to analyse Data Loss Prevention incidents as they come in
  • Develop the skills to dismiss False Positive incidents
  • Develop the skills to work out ways to adjust the policy to tune out false positives
  • Develop the skills to run reports for customers
  • Develop the skills to add/removing users, policies, departments etc
  • Attend meetings to discuss the above
  • In addition, your role will also include :-
  • Answer internal support calls via phone/email
  • Develop the skills to raise support calls to Vendors where necessary
  • Develop the skills to replicating issues in Lab environment
  • Develop the skills to build and configure new machines and servers
  • Develop the skills to diagnose hardware and software issues
  • Develop the skills to diagnose Network issues including re-patching/cable making etc

A permanent role will be offered to the right candidate after the 12-month apprenticeship period.

Things to consider

From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training. Training provider

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in Reading for up to 12 weeks on a block release basis for structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship for IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals. The qualifications consist of:

  • Edexcel Advanced Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms
  • L3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence
  • L3 Extended Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles
  • Level 2 Functional Skills English, Maths, ICT (if applicable)
