    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

You will be responsible for making sure customers have a good overall experience in the salon by providing excellent customer services, advice on aftercare products including promotion of the salon's own brand products and keeping the salon clean and tidy. You will also be responsible for-

  • Washing hair, ready for the stylist 
  • Gown up customers
  • Making and re booking appointments for customers 
  • Answering the telephone 

You will receive on the job training from a professional stylist and full support from the workplace.

Interested applicants must be reliable, well mannered, and have excellent communication skills. 

Qualifications required

GCSE A to D in Maths and English or equivalent qualification  and successful completion of a colour blindness test.

On completion of the Intermediate Apprenticeship, individuals will have the opportunity to apply to progress on to the Advanced Apprenticeship
