    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

The Lamb Inn is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join their friendly team.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

Future prospects

Once completing the level 2 Professional Cookery Apprenticeship, you could be given the opportunity to stay on and progress onto further qualifications whilst working as a qualified Kitchen Assistant alongside the Chef.

Things to consider

The Lamb Inn is situated in the High Peak area which does not have regular bus routes. Please look into the commute and ensure you can reach the setting before applying. From the 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.

Training provider

Full Apprenticeship Training Level 2 and then Level 3 will be provided by Interserve.  All training done on site at work, no day release. You will also be working towards a technical certificate, ERR (employer rights and responsibilities and functional skills in maths and English if not already achieved.
