Role includes.

  • Preparing meats for Butchery. Weighing and preparing work area.
  • Knife skills to include correct Butchery of each piece.
  • Making Salami and using equipment including electric stuffer.
  • Hanging finished products & recognising when products are ready for slicing.
  • Full slicing and preparing finished products.
  • Looking after equipment’s and cleaning workstation and equipment’s.
  • Keeping records of products up to date.
  • Making up orders and putting them into boxes for onward delivery.
  • Delivery orders to local customers. (Driving Licence required)
  • Representing the company at Food events sometimes at weekends.

Things to consider

You must be capable of working with sharp knives and equipment. You will be expected to undertake Health & safety training. The premises is an old farm building so it can be cold.

About the employer

A food manufacturing company. We make Charcuterie products using locally sourced meats. We Butcher, Cure, Dry & package our finished products for Retail sale. You will learn some relevant Butchery skills & the curing and drying process. We are located on a small Dairy farm in a rural location. The work can be physically demanding. We are a small business. We get involved in Food events and farmer’s markets. You may be able to deliver our products & meet our customers. You will be encouraged to learn all aspects of our business.
