Health and Social Care Apprentice required to support other Carers in the mental health care of residents, the role will involve:

  • Gain proficiency with moving and sensitively handling residents of the home
  • You will be expected to undertake mandatory training, participate in staff meetings and undertake any further training for the organisational needs.
  • Keep up to date with policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Understand the carer role in relation to the aims and values of Belvidere Court Nursing Home
  • Understanding responsibility other workers and to the resident.
  • Understand the importance of promoting dignity, respect, privacy, equality and diversity, individuality, rights, choice and for the resident to be as independent as possible.
  • To limit deprivation of liberties and promoting advance decisions with end of life care.
  • Assist residents with eating and drinking, getting dressed and all elements of personal care
  • Observe, monitor and communicate any concerns or changes in the residents to the senior staff.
  • You will be required to comply with the code of conduct and practice of Belvidere Court Nursing Home

Qualifications required

GCSE A*-C in English and Maths and ICT OR the ability to achieve Level 1 Functional Skills in these subjects.

Things to consider

The successful candidate must be over 18 due to the requirement to work night shifts and will be required to have a full DBS check prior to starting the role as well as satisfactory references. You will be required to arrive 15 minutes before your shift starts to perform a handover.

The successful candidate must be over 18 and will be required to have a full DBS check prior to starting the role as well as satisfactory references. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
