We are looking for a Warehouse apprentice to join our team, the role will be to assist the warehouse manager in the day to day running of the warehouse.

The role will involve the following aspects of our warehouse routine:

  • Goods In.
  • Allocating Goods.
  • Picking.
  • Packing.
  • Door Set Packing.
  • Goods Out.
  • Observing and serving on trade counter.
  • Chasing Manufacturers purchase orders.
  • Preparing despatches for Couriers and own transport.
  • Taking basic telephone enquiries.
  • Arranging customer and supplier returns.
  • Loading and unloading incoming and outgoing parcels.
  • Assisting on van deliveries if required.
  • Assist in stock take quarterly.
  • Computer work (training will be given).

Requirements and prospects

  • General computer skills.
  • Good telephone Manner.
  • Team player, able to take instruction, basis numeracy.
  • Be able to show initiative and looking to further their career.

Personal qualities

Future prospects

There would be a great opportunity to progress into other departments such as estimating and sales. The successful candidate would be offered the opportunity to enrol in a 3 year diploma course in the Guild of Architectural Ironmongery, which covers all aspects of Architectural Ironmongery. All current members of staff have been in the industry for between 10 and 30 years.
