    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

This position will grow into a sales role, so they are looking for someone who has the attitude, want and drive to make this happen and learn every step on the ladder in order to get there.

Duties Initially:

  • Liaising with clients throughout the training process
  • Stay in touch with clients and learners in order to complete bookings, send relevant paperwork and book any courses necessary
  • Assist with the administration of the company’s training bookings by entering these onto the sage accounting system and generating confirmation paperwork for the client
  • Create a professional impression at all times
  •  Answering the phones
  • Taking messages for the sales team
  • Passing on post and distributing deliveries
  • Upskilling and building on industry specific knowledge in order to be able to provide a competent service to your clients both prospective and current
  • generate introduction & quotation proposals verbally, by email, fax and letter
  • Contribute to sales targets, deadlines and key performance indicators in order to develop, grow and succeed as a business

From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training. Interview We will be interviewing candidates who meet the criteria as they apply and will recruit after a successful interview which may be before the closing date. Reality Check You will be responsible for your travel expenses to and from your place of work. Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst awaiting for your first wages to be paid. Travel Information Nearest train station is Barming station. Walking distance from station to bus stop is 443 feet, takes 2 minutes. Bus number 60 (3 stops), takes 5 minutes. Walking distance from bus stop to destination is 0.5 miles, takes 10 minutes. Overall travel time is 17 minutes.
