Are you looking to develop your skills and progress your career in a varied and exiting environment?

As we have one production Kitchen only, the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of cooking from volume a la carte, bar food and buffets to creative cutting edge molecular gastronomy involved in many of our Cilantro dishes.

We have a strong development culture within the kitchen and have a proven track record of progressing our chef’s to senior levels within the company.

No previous experience is required as all training will be provided.

However, it is essential that you:-

  • Are willing to learn and have a positive attitude
  • Are looking for a career as a Chef and has a desire to develop and progress
  • Are hardworking and able to take instruction
  • Are able to work calmly in an often pressurised environment
  • Have an interest in food and are open to tasting and trying all different kinds of food.
  • Are able to work evenings and weekends as these are the peak periods of service
  • Are able to travel to and from work (Madejski Stadium) often returning home late in the evening where there are no buses available.
  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene at all times.

Things to consider

From the 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
