    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Duties included within this role will be:

  • Assist with the unloading of Lorries
  • Stacking and  managing physical storage of  products within the warehouse
  • Organise and catalogue deliveries and update electronic records
  • Assist other members of staffs with duties
  • Prepare Orders for delivery
  • Carry out regular stock takes and advise of low stock
  • Processing goods in/out of the warehouse
  • Packaging goods for delivery
  • Data inputting
  • Printing delivery labels
  • Packing pallets for delivery
  • Rack organising
  • Machinery operation to include Guillotine, Saws and Coating

Qualifications required

A*- D GCSE Grades in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications in these subjects.

This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
