Vacancy Full Description:     

Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery is a chain of nurseries with a site in Kingston opened just over a year ago.  The nursery is conveniently located in the centre of the town centre. The nursery is just 2 mins walk from the station, and opposite a major bus terminal, making it easily accessible.

Set over 2 floors, with a garden of over 5000sq ft, the day nursery provides high quality facilities for children 3 months to 5 years. The nursery has the most up-to-date equipment set in dedicated areas throughout the setting.  The staff are friendly and you will receive excellent support from the management team.   The nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and staff.  The appointment will be subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and a DBS (formerly CRB) check.

 

Requirements of post:

  • Creating a stimulating environment of play and encouraging and supporting the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of our children.    
  • Planning and supervising activities such as arts and crafts, music and cooking 
  • Helping children to learn number skills through activities like counting games 
  • Reading stories and providing other activities to develop language skills 
  • Taking children on outings 
  • Helping children to learn skills such as dressing and using cutlery    
  • Establish and maintain positive communication with parents.

                                                                                                                                

  • To ensure that all nursery equipment is in a safe condition and adhere to the health and safety, food and safeguarding policies of the nursery.
  • To attend and contribute towards staff meetings.

Things to consider

Please consider the cost and length of time of your daily commute to Kingston before you apply. From the 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
