    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Cars2 have a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Service Advisor to join their prestigious approved dealership based in Bradford.

The comprehensive programme provides you with an exciting and challenging opportunity to achieve formal qualifications through extensive product training, while in full-time employment at a Hyundai dealer.

Duties will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for all customers coming into the dealership and ensuring they receive the best customer service experience
  • Upselling and cross-selling additional products and services
  • Booking in cars for MOTs and service
  • Be courteous and polite to all visitors both face to face and via the telephone
  • Working to a high level of customer service at all times
  • Any other ad hoc duties when required

Qualifications required

5 GCSEs at grade A* to C (or equivalent) including Maths, English essential. Science and ICT are desirable.

Future prospects

There is high potential of a permanent role with the organisation upon successful completion of your apprenticeship with room for progression. Your salary shall be reviewed throughout your apprenticeship.

Things to consider

The candidate must be available to start as soon as possible and be able to travel to the workplace according to the working hours. Candidate must be able to travel to the training centre 4 separate weeks per year for 2 years.

Training provider

  • The Programme for the Service Technician Apprentice lasts 2 years with underpinning knowledge delivered in partnership and managed by EMTEC Colleges
  • One to one will also take place regularly through 121 visits to the dealership from EMTEC Vocational Learning Advisors, who observe all evidence opportunities that occur naturally in the workplace

Nationally recognised qualifications:

  • IMI Level 2, 3 and Certificate in Customer Service for the Automotive Industry
  • IMI accreditation - Customer Service Advisor
  • Regular in-dealer review and assessment visits

The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.50 per hour from April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. * Please note that anyone under the age of 18 will only work a maximum of 40 hours per week.
