 Duties include;

  • Managing patient requests in person, on the phone and via written communication
  • Booking, amending, rescheduling and cancelling patient appointments
  • Distributing prescriptions
  • Action patient care follow- up arrangements as per clinicians instructions
  • Advising patients of chargeable services and processing payments
  • Providing patients with information about the Practice Services
  • General housekeeping of reception and waiting areas
  • Arranging transport and home visits
  • Managing medical records recording patient contracts, attaching correspondence electronically and in hard copy and filing in correct order.
  • Maintaining and updating the practice patient database.
  • Ensuring confidentiality and data protection is observed at all times.

 

Training to be provided:

At level 2/3 City & Guilds Diploma In Business & Administration

Level 1 / 2 Functional Skills in Math,  English & ICT

This is a very busy environment where you will need to deal with people who are ill, worried and sometimes upset and confused. You need to be able to remain calm and behave in a professional manner at all times. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.40 per hour from 1st October 2016. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
