Duties will include the following but as you progress in your training you will be encouraged to take more responsibility:


  • Preparing fresh local produce and ingredients
  • Planning your work to ensure that all preparation is ready for service
  • Assisting the chef during service and as you develop running your own section of the kitchen
  • Measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately to ensure consistency and food costs are maintained 
  • Dealing with deliveries and stock rotation
  • Checking cleanliness and temperate of storage areas.
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene in all areas of the kitchen

  • Some previous experience in the kitchen would be an advantage but full training will be provided for the right candidate

Qualifications required

English and Maths at Grade C or above but Functional Skills are available in these areas if grades have not been achieved

Things to consider

The shift pattern involves mainly split shifts so the applicant should be local to Bidford or have transport of their own. From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.

We serve a wide variety of cuisine with a strong emphasis on fresh fish and local & seasonal produce. Everything is cooked from scratch using quality produce.
