Surindera Studios is a highly successful business for wedding photography and videography. With a growing client base this employer is looking for an apprentice who is a quick learner and can support the employer on the running of the studio.

The main responsibilities will be using the latest editing software to help edit photographs, edit wedding videos, handling data. They will need to have excellent customer service skills to meet and greet customers on a daily basis.

The studio relies on attracting new customers through a variety of social media sites and the apprentice will need to keep these up to date and manage this data.

The apprentice will be working towards creating their own promo videos too for these sites.

On a day to day basis the studio also offers passport photographs to walk in customers and apprentice will be responsible for this service.

Training will be required but some experience using editing software is beneficial.


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

The apprentice will need to have high level computer skills.

Basic knowledge/ experience with editing software is desirable including Lightroom, Photoshop and Premier Pro.

The apprentice needs to be able to use their initiative.

High levels of customer service will be essential.

 

Personal qualities

This is a creative role and the apprentice will need to have the ability to use their initiative and express their ideas.

A passion for photography and media is essential.

 

Qualifications required

GCSEs Grade A -D or equivalent in Math's, English & ICT

Things to consider

From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.

About the employer

Surindera Studios was originally set up in 1972 by Surinder Balrai, the inspiration for the business name and the father of our current head photographer Shaminder. Surinder began building a name for himself working as a specialist Indian and Asian wedding film maker and photographer. He later worked with his son to pass on his expertise, and eventually the studio too.
