Safeguarding children is paramount to everything that we do at Cumnor House. You will be expected to engage in safeguarding training provided, read and comply with all safeguarding policies and procedures and ensure that all safeguarding concerns are reported in appropriately in line with the policy.
Daily you will be a role model for the children setting high expectations and managing behaviour. You will be expected to always maintain a level of professionalism including following the staff dress code and ensuring appropriate language is used at all times towards staff and children. With your team you will be responsible for ensuring the classroom environment is set up correctly at the start of the day and that the classroom is kept tidy and replenished.

About the employer
Cumnor House is an outstanding independent school and part of the Cognita Group. We have two nurseries that are coeducational that feed into our Boys and Girls school located in Purley and South Croydon.
We only take on two apprentices a year and have a unique professional development programme that will continue to support you to gain your level 3 but also after as well. This could be taking the next steps to teacher training, learning more about forest school or becoming a deputy manager. We make sure we are supporting and promoting excellent practitioners. Many of our current Nursery Managers and Teachers started as Nursery Practitioners in one of our nurseries.
In addition, all staff including apprentices have excellent wellbeing packages. We believe that happy staff create happy places for children to learn and thrive from small gestures such as a free coffee machine with coffee pods in the cosy staff room, to allowing staff to wear their own clothes or Friday breakfasts, we try to create a place of work that everyone can enjoy.
With this in mind, we also have excellent staff packages; all staff get paid lunches, a free healthy lunch and snacks on site, their own iPad, free parking, excellent sickness benefits, excellent maternity leave, 25 days holiday, flexible working hours, staff shop with discounts on cars, utility bills and gym membership, staff recognition and social events.
