Duties may include:

  • Adherence to Company Policy, procedures and Handbook
  • Quality, safety, health and environmental awareness (e.g. responsible for own and others safety)
  • Individual risk awareness within job role
  • Be responsible for general good housekeeping, cable management and safe working practices in the workshop and on facility
  • The interpretation of drawings and documentation and be responsible for accuracy and content of their own work
  • Report all defects and shortages to Supervisor / chargehand
  • Responsible for the withdrawal of correct materials from stores
  • Carry out the plating operation in accordance with the relevant Work Instructions
  • Pass on all relevant information to the designated welder, and check that it satisfies the drawing requirements
  • Liaise with inspectors as required
  • To liaise with Health and Safety Officer and Supervisor to promote a safe working environment
  • Platers will assist in the training of apprentices, students and new employees
  • Fabrication of assemblies & sub-assemblies from relevant drawings
  • Cut materials by means of flame, plasma and cutting disc
  • Drill & Punch
  • Marking off and some development
  • Tack weld assemblies
  • Carry out welding operations as required
