Duties may include:
- Adherence to Company Policy, procedures and Handbook
- Quality, safety, health and environmental awareness (e.g. responsible for own and others safety)
- Individual risk awareness within job role
- Be responsible for general good housekeeping, cable management and safe working practices in the workshop and on facility
- The interpretation of drawings and documentation and be responsible for accuracy and content of their own work
- Report all defects and shortages to Supervisor / chargehand
- Responsible for the withdrawal of correct materials from stores
- Carry out the plating operation in accordance with the relevant Work Instructions
- Pass on all relevant information to the designated welder, and check that it satisfies the drawing requirements
- Liaise with inspectors as required
- To liaise with Health and Safety Officer and Supervisor to promote a safe working environment
- Platers will assist in the training of apprentices, students and new employees
- Fabrication of assemblies & sub-assemblies from relevant drawings
- Cut materials by means of flame, plasma and cutting disc
- Drill & Punch
- Marking off and some development
- Tack weld assemblies
- Carry out welding operations as required
