Duties include:

  • Answering the telephone and forwarding calls/taking messages where required
  • Printing barcodes and scanning paperwork, filing in correct locations on server
  • Data entry and checking of order confirmations for date discrepancies
  • Arranging items to go on customer deliveries and/or posting items to customers
  • Invoice matching and checking
  • Sending order confirmations to customers through means of our internal CRM software
  • Raising new orders, sending order confirmations and logging complaints for customers through means of our internal CRM software
  • Any other duties which will help the office team become more efficient

  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.

Personal qualities

A good work ethic is required, we promote a one team attitude so communication, teamwork and dedication are important. A high attention to detail is also important, small mistakes can be costly so we strive for right first time. Obviously punctuality, reliability and a general can do, positive attitude are needed to succeed.

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE, or equivalents, A*-C/9-4 in maths and English

Future prospects

GJB has a history of retaining and promoting from within with many management and supervisory positions held by employees with 10, 15 or even 20+ years experience, additionally many other workers have been long standing as we reward hardwork and dedication with good pay and good reward schemes. There is no reason why the apprentice could not rise through the ranks.

Pay will be reviewed on a 3 monthly basis depending on performance.
