Job Description of the role:

Assist in the duties associated with the getting in, fitting up, running and getting out of

productions/events taking place in the theatre spaces.

Assist with event management and operation.

Under direction of the Technical Manager, operate & set-up lighting equipment, sound equipment.

Assist in the maintenance of technical equipment within the theatres as required.

Assist in ensuring that all areas of the building are kept in a clean, tidy, and safe condition.

Identify and undertake training and development as required, in order to meet personal and business needs.

Adhere to all H&S requirements to ensure employees, visitors and performers are safe.

Undertake any other reasonable duties to ensure the smooth running of the theatre

Assist in any department-relevant administrative work required.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

You will need to be:

Able to use IT equipment and systems

A confident communicator

Be willing to work evenings and weekends

Complete all course work and attend college sessions

Knowledge of the theatre industry (preferred)

Have an understanding of technical lighting systems (preferred)

Have an understanding of sound systems (preferred)

Have an understanding of H&S requirements within the theatre industry (preferred)

Personal qualities

You will need to demonstrate:

Desired qualifications

You will need to have GCSE grades A-C or 4-9 in both Maths and English.

You will need to undertake an initial assessment in maths and English.

About the employer

Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre is a 250 seat performing arts venue just outside of Taunton. As well as a fully operational theatre space TMAC boasts a fully equipped dance and drama studio and music suite. TMAC host performances from touring professional dance and theatre companies, universities and student productions, as well as local amateur groups.
