As a Apprentice Revit Engineer at Derry Building Services, you will be based out of our Birmingham office.  Your on-the-job training will be supplemented with a range of soft skills training opportunities, alongside the opportunity to visit an array of project sites.

In addition to this you will be allocated a mentor to guide you through your training and assist your development to becoming a qualified Revit Engineer proficient in the use of software including Revit, Navisworks and Solibri.

The role is to produce detailed solutions to achieve the optimum performance of built environment projects via digital models and presentations using software, sketches and electronic visualisations.

Applicants will support Digital Engineers or Design Engineers and Project Managers in completing complex tasks using digital engineering techniques, specifically:

  • Virtualisation and simulation of design, construction and management of assets
  • Digital measurement of design, production and management of assets
  • Communication of complex engineering principles to stakeholders digitally
  • Integration of construction data and information throughout the whole life cycle of the asset
  • Adherence to the standards and regulation of digital information
  • Assist in the production of 2d drawings from initial design through construction stage and finally as constructed information.
  • Input of COBie/NRM data
  • Use of Common data environment (CDM)
  • Adhere to BIM protocols
  • Co-ordination of ME&P services

Desired qualifications

  • Typical entry requirements are five GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and Englishgrade c/4 or above, or a Level 2 Apprenticeship

Future prospects

  • Further training is also available and may include a Higher National Diploma (HND)
  • Once qualified and having gained enough experience, applicants may have opportunities to progress their role into a Senior Revit Engineer and BIM / Revit Manager
  • Successful candidates will also have opportunity to undertake a sponsored professional membership

  • As an apprentice, you will be required to complete the Digital Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard, which involves completion of projects and assignments throughout the programme. 20% of time on your apprenticeship will be allocated for study, either in college or in the workplace. At the end of the apprenticeship, you will be required to complete an end point assessment. Following on from this, you may progress to the Higher Apprenticeship in Construction Management. The duration of both apprenticeship programmes will be 4 years
