As a Carpentry Apprentice your role is as a trainee carpenter, however, we expect you to:

  • To work and train under the direction, guidance and supervision of an experienced Construction Manager
  • To represent J Wooff Carpentry with respect and professionalism
  • Positively and actively participate in all aspects of your learning, training and skills gained
  • Treat your colleagues, mentors and managers with respect
  • Take responsibility for yourself and others regarding safe working and Health & Safety standards and practices

Some duties will include:

  • Prepare wood for carpentry purposes
  • Learn all types of joint fittings
  • Correctly use tools and machinery
  • Learn to hang doors
  • Learn to build and fix roof gables
  • Other types of carpentry as per course requirements

Things to consider

Please make sure that you are able to travel to work each day. Having a Driving Licence would be an advantage though not essential
