Clayton Glass Ltd are looking to employ a Business Admin Apprentice to support the Planning Assistant.

Over the past decade, Clayton Glass has grown into one of the largest independent glass manufacturers in the UK. The business is privately owned and has a number of discreet operations, each with its own specialism. The combined group boasts turnover of £30 million, across 200,000 sq. feet of manufacturing space, and a workforce of over 300 people.

Clayton Glass in the North East operates with 3 tempering furnaces and 8 glass cutting centre which give a machine capacity of in excess of 40,000 items a week.  In house capabilities include decorative glass, heat strengthened tempering, fire glass among other operations. Our distribution network reaches the whole of the UK on a regular basis, with a fleet of over 40 vehicles ranging from 38 tonne articulated wagons to sprinter vans, we are perfectly placed to meet our customer’s needs. We’ve also been listed as one of the 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain.

Clayton Glass Ltd are looking to employ a Business Administration Apprentice to support the Planning Assistant within the planning Department.

Main Duties to include:

  • Answering customer telephone calls
  • Sorting customer queries
  • Sorting customers’ orders into date order for planning
  • Supporting the Planning Assistant on a range of duties including drawing of leads and Georgians
  • Placing orders with suppliers via telephone/email
  • Cross training in customer services department as and when needed
  • A range of other administrative tasks relevant to the role

Things to consider

Candidates must be able to travel to the employer premises for a 7.30am start - please check travel arrangements prior to applying for this role. 

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
