You would be working for an independent, family run, village pub who would like to bring an apprentice to their kitchen so that they can share their passion for food and provide an excellent training portal for the right applicant.
All kitchen duties are covered by all kitchen staff (including the dreaded washing up and cleaning down)!
Duties will include (not limited to):
- Food Preparation.
- Cooking all dishes on menu.
- Stock control/rotation.
- Cleaning.
- Organising.
- Working in a team and individually.
- All sections of the kitchen will be covered over time.

Desired qualifications
Good educational qualifications (Five A*- C/9 - 4 GCSEs or equivalent). Maths and English will be studied as a Mandatory part of the Apprenticeship if C/4 has not already been achieved. These will be studied by Block Weeks, Monday to Friday.
Future prospects
There may be the possibility of a permanent role for the right applicant upon successful completion of the full apprenticeship.
Things to consider
- No two days will be the same
- Village location so will need reliable transport or to live locally
- Shifts may not finish exactly on time due to the nature of the kitchen environment.
About the employer
The Manor House inn is a quaint village pub situated in Rilla Mill, PL17 7NT.
We are open 7 days a week, serving food every day at both lunchtime and in the evenings.
The Head Chef, Joss, has over 15 years’ experience and has worked his way through to Head Chef and owner from kitchen porter. Joss prides himself on making everything from scratch, even condiments such as mayonnaise.
The menu is a mixture of pub classics and modern interpretations of dishes from all around the world. The menu is available as both in-house and takeaway options.
