Throughout the training the apprentice will learn engineering activities will be allow the apprentice to:

  • Diagnostics of faults and issues of equipment, machinery, and systems
  • Repair of equipment, machinery (electrical & mechanical) and systems
  • Correctly disassemble, inspect, clean, replace and re-assemble mechanical assemblies
  • Installation of systems in accordance with safety standards and regulations
  • System testing and commissioning
  • Completion of risk assessments, reports, and certificates
  • Equipment and machinery health checks
  • Liaise with customer about works and suggested (any) remedial actions
  • Have the knowledge, understanding and competency to identify potential regulation breeches and feedback to the office
  • Feedback to the technical team with improvement suggestions
  • Punctual, professional and a company ambassador
  • Manage own time
  • Assist other business functions when not on site
  • Ability to get on with the job, using knowledge, skills and experience to make informed decisions

Good timekeeping, the ability to take on board information in a variety of formats and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and team leaders.   Have a proven interest in the working environment and want an apprenticeship.

Desired qualifications

The candidate must have GCSEs, or equivalent, at grade 4 or above including Maths & English Language.

Please note that level 2 adult literacy and adult numeracy will not be accepted.  This is due to the apprenticeship certificate awarding body’s requirements.
