A Network Cable Installer is responsible for setting up, developing, and maintaining computer networks. Your daily tasks include offering support and network troubleshooting to users, who can be staff, clients, customers, and suppliers. As well as ensuring the integrity of high availability network infrastructure to provide maximum performance for your users.
The candidate will initially learn to master the following:
- How a wired network works
- How to correctly install a network cable (copper or fibre) safely and correctly in a variety of environments
- How to terminate all types of network cabling correctly and safely
- How to correctly and safely install a variety of containment types, this includes plastic and metal
- How to install wall and floor mounted network cabinets correctly and safely
- How to correctly test the above using a variety of test equipment, this includes setting up the devices
- How to diagnose faults and potentially fix them if able with the above
- How to confidently survey a new install with the ability to adapt to any environment

- Full Uk Driving license due to the nature of the role

- Mastering the above, will then give the candidate a solid foundation to move forward into a higher-skilled role
