Level 2 (GCSE)
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join their team as an Autocare Apprentice. The role is demanding as the successful applicant will be working on a range of vehicles while learning their trade to a nationally recognised standard.
As an apprentice you will learn all the skills to become a top Autocare Technician with a fantastic range of future career options ahead of you. Modern cars are becoming increasingly complex and it is essential that today’s technicians are fully conversant with the most recent technology. This is an exciting opening for an opportunity to earn while you learn gaining a nationally recognised qualification and a future career.
- Find and diagnose faults using hand tools or a computer
- Advise customers on what repairs are needed
- Estimate time and costs for jobs
- Road test vehicles to check repairs
- Tyre fitting
- Repairs to exhausts, batteries, brakes and servicing
The role will also include numerous other jobs such as shadowing staff on complex repairs and assisting with MOTs. You will use a range of tools, measuring and diagnostic equipment to identify & repair simple system faults.
Requirements and prospects

- GCSEs at grade C/4 or equivalent (Functional Skills or Key Skills) in English and maths. Preferable otherwise S&B will conduct Functional Skills on the job.
- Full training to Level 2 Standard.

S&B Automotive Academy is a specialist automotive apprenticeship training provider located in Bedminster, Bristol. S&B works in partnership with Stoke Bishop Garage to deliver the Autocare apprenticeship training programme over a 2-year period that concludes in an end point assessment.
Training is delivered in the workplace and via seven one-week college blocks per year at S&B Automotive Academy. The apprentice will be assigned a workplace mentor and a college mentor who will offer support, advice and guidance by monitoring progress through the use of electronic logbook which both employer and the apprentice will have access to 24/7 365 days a year.
