Duties     

Working alongside the activities coordinator and carers supporting individuals with their personal needs and encouraging them to pursue their hobbies and interests.

  • To include supporting day care visitors and residents in the home with personal care needs, at mealtimes and during activity sessions.
  • Some light housework
  • Record keeping
  • Assisting Activities Staff with the daily activities programme to give residents physical and mental stimulation
  • Welcoming new residents into the home by ensuring they are aware of their new surroundings

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Must have a good English verbal and written communication
  • Able to use IT equipment for keeping records.

Personal qualities

  • Must be confident, friendly and have an outgoing ,
  • Fun personality and be able to engage well with older people
  • Needs to be reliable and work well in a small team.

Desired qualifications

  • Maths, English at GCSE A-C or equivalent
