The role is integral to the success of the Company, with new product designs being produced regularly needing new tooling and maintaining the vast range of tools which are in constant use.

  • The apprentice will report to the Toolroom Manager
  • Tool maintenance and repair
  • Designing and producing jigs for production
  • Operating spark-eroder for etching tool design
  • Operating CNC Mill to machine tool cavities and ejector plates
  • Operating CNC lathes

Desired skills

  • The candidate will have good practical skills, and technical ability an interest in engineering, metal work and technical design. 
  • Attention to details are particularly important with a good level of mathematics/trigonometry.

Level 3 Engineering Technician - Machinist Apprenticeship Standard
