They report to the Senior Production chef or appropriate line manager. Production chefs are likely to work with centrally developed standardised recipes and menus, producing food often in high volumes. They apply highly methodical organisational skills, energy, accuracy, attention to detail and are mindful of the importance of sustainability and protecting the environment.
Key responsibilities are likely to include working with other team members, knowledge of food safety, assisting in the preparation, cooking and finishing of a range of menu items. Attention to detail, understanding the importance of sustainability and protecting the environment. Assisting in the opening and close down of the kitchen under the direction of a more senior member of the team.
- Assisting in the food preparation process
- Cooking and preparing elements of high quality dishes
- Preparing vegetables, meats and fish
- Assisting other Chefs
- Helping with deliveries and restocking
- Assisting with stock rotationCleaning stations
