The role entails supporting Senior members of staff with administrative duties, to ensure that all paperwork and data entry is completed to the appropriate level.  


Duties include but are not limited to the following;


  • To have a thorough knowledge of all Planning & Design Practice Ltd.’s products/services.
  • To work in accordance of protocols
  • Pulling/filling notes for meetings and update as necessary
  • Scanning and collecting posts.
  • Booking in meetings and creating schedules.
  • Fax and photocopy as requested 
  • Handling daily administrative duties.
  • Answer inbound calls and ensure that any queries are dealt with accordingly.
  • Typing from dictation made by Directors to include design images. 
  • Cheque administration from Accounts Department
  • Daily banking and other task duties
  • Stationery stock control and ordering
  • In and out going post responsibility
  • Key cupboard responsibility logging in/out and accountability for property stock keys
  • New build sales customer liaison
  • Some exposure to digital marketing activities through the use of social media platforms and email campaigns.

For the right kind of candidate, opportunities for promotions and progression on to the level 4 apprenticeship programme are both available as long as the candidate impresses during their first year.

Things to consider

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.40 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. Planning & Design Practice Limited is a team of town planning consultants, architects and urban designers. We are based in Derbyshire but operate across the country including London. We offer a comprehensive range of services, specialising in Town Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, Heritage and Conservation and can provide expert advice on a range of planning issues encompassing small scale development through to large schemes. We are able to assist in the submission of planning applications and appeals, provide advice on enforcement issues, and prepare masterplans and detailed design proposals. We can also prepare a range of specialist documents including Planning Statements, Design and Access Statements, Heritage Statements and Landscape and Visual Impact Appraisals. Our work is highly regarded and based on the belief that good design is indivisible from good planning. We have an excellent track record in achieving planning permissions and in winning appeals.

The Apprentice will work towards a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship for Business and Administration Professionals. The qualifications consist of:

  • Advanced Apprenticeship in Business and Administration
  • Level 3 Diploma in Business and Administration
  • Level 2 Functional Skills English, Maths & ICT (if applicable)
